Sildenafil Citrate is used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction and pulmonary arterial hypertension in men. This medicine may also be used for the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension, also known as high blood pressure in the right side of the heart (PAH).
Indications:Used for the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH).
Dosage:Take one tablet about 1 hour before sexual activity.
Administration:Use Sildenafil Citrate exactly as prescribed.
Contraindications:Not recommended for use in patients with hypersensitivity to nitrates or nitrites, nitroprusside, or nitroglycerin. Also avoid use in patients with severe cardiac disease, unstable angina, severe liver or kidney impairment, concomitant disease with a known or suspected pulmonary arterial hypertension.
Side Effects:Gastrointestinal disturbance, headache, dizziness, flushing, dyspepsia, nasal congestion, dizziness, back pain, muscle pain, itching, and rash. Some side effects may go away on their own, but they are usually mild and subside with time. However, if they persist or get worse, please consult a doctor.
Warnings:For external use only. Do not take Sildenafil Citrate if you are allergic to any ingredient in Sildenafil Citrate or if you have severe heart or liver problems, heart arrhythmias (ineseding or tachycardias), angina (chest pain), or if you have been taking other medicines known as alpha-blockers (duloxetine, tadalafil, verapamil), or alpha-blockers for prostate problems, prostate cancer, or enlarged prostate. Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to it, if you suffer from asthma, itraconazole, ketoconazole, isotretinoin, or ketotifen for the treatment of sunburn in adults. If you are taking nitrates, please talk to your doctor before taking Sildenafil Citrate. Nitrates are found in many medications, so do not take this medicine if you are currently using any nitrate medications (including nitroglycerin containing medications) including the medicines of this group. Ask your doctor about using the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible time. Do not use Sildenafil Citrate if you use recreational drugs, or if you use nitrates, or as indicated in this leaflet. If you are a woman, Sildenafil Citrate should only be used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction and/or pulmonary arterial hypertension.
Precautions:Do not use in the last 3 months of pregnancy. Consult your doctor if you have a history of heart attack, stroke or irregular heartbeat, high or low blood pressure in one of the affected areas of the body, liver disease, kidney disease, heart failure, angina, liver or kidney problems, a history of peptic ulcers or gastric ulcers or bleeding disorders. Inform your doctor if you are taking any other medicines.
